Mitzvah Projects - know of any?

As you know, I love receiving email from readers! I love to gather advice, ideas and tidbits, and also love when Mitzvah Kids write in to share their Mitzvah Projects with me.

"For my Mitzvah Project, I am collecting school supplies for schools that have suffered from budget cuts, and I am donating them through a Website called iloveschools.com. They post lists of supplies needed and schools that really need those supplies. I am not only looking for general school supplies but also the specific needs of the teachers. I do not feel it is right that these teachers have to take money from their own pockets and use it for everybody else's needs. They do enough for their community."

She created and distributed a flyer, identifying the supplies she was looking for. Her list included pens, pencils, crayons, erasers and scissors. Her Bat Mitzvah will be later this year, and she will collect supplies through the end of the year.

The nonprofit organization iLoveSchools.com is a wonderful resource which was established in 2003. Its mission is "to raise awareness of classroom resource inequities facing America's schools and teachers, to provide the resources and to promote the love of learning to all American students, without regard to social, economic or demographic circumstances."

Wonderful Photos

This picture of brides looking out the window to catch a glimpse of their fiancee's is one of my favorite. I have seen it taken at a number of hotels but the Royal Park Hotel has the tall windows to do this picture justice. All brides look great in this picture. Kathy was shooting from Sam Sarkiss Photography. She did a great job.

The Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan provides some beautiful areas outside for brides and grooms to take their pictures. Well manicured gardens, a babbling brook, a putting green and a conservatory all add to the beauty adn charm of the Royal Park Hotel

Love this picture of the bridal party along the bank of the river. It was a little tricky getting everyone down there but it was worth the shot. The bride was very accommodating and took fabulous pictures.

Menus were put at everyone's place setting. I made these for the bride and groom and I can make them for you. If you have a logo or unique font. I can come up with the perfect menu, thank you card etc. to compliment your taste.

One of my favorite pictures I have ever taken

The centerpieces were a combination of high and low. Beautiful fall colors were chosen and I loved the way the flowers were used inside the vase. Candles are always nice for a warm romantic look.

The gold chavari chairs added a beautiful touch to the gold feathers that were in the table linens. The combination was gorgeous.

The sweet table consisted of a hugh chocolate fountain. When you walked into the room the smell of chocolate filled the air. Located on the sweet table was a tower of roses. The flowers were done by Blossoms - 248-644-4411

Hillary and Eric's Wedding

Adat Shalom's sanctuary provides the perfect background for the wedding party to have their picture taken. Having children in your wedding party is a personal choice. These four happen not only to be well mannered but they were so cute also! I suggest having kids come near the end of picture taking because it is a long long day for them.

Something new I offer now is a personalized money and or "tish" bag. They are $25.00 for the bag. All you need to do is send me a picture. The hammer is $15.00 if you provide the hammer, $25.00 if I have to purchase the hammer for you. Makes a great gift for the bride and groom and keeps all your envelopes in one place so they do not get lost.

The room looked amazing. The flowers were by Blossoms in Birmingham 248-644-4411. The high and low centerpieces filled the room and smelled amazing. Touch of pink on the chair cover sash was just enough to make the room look elegant and beautiful.

The cake and sweet table was made by Jeff Rosenberg Catering. But the appetizers and main entree was from Jewel Kosher Caterers.

Millie and Mort Feldman's 50th Wedding Celebration

This is my Aunt Millie and me on her 50th Wedding Celebration.
Their family has grown to include my three cousins and their families. After renewing their vows, family and friends enjoyed a beautiful lunch and dancing to Avy Schreiber.

I do not cry at weddings, been to many so it take a lot to make me cry. But when
my cousin Samantha sang a song to her grandparents (my aunt and uncle), and they began dancing to her song....the tears started coming. That's the beauty of weddings, something so trival to someone has such an impact on someone else. It was a beautiful moment.

Harold, from House of Harold did the flowers, they were magnificent. Unusual and striking.

Wabeek Country CLub

Sometimes in my business you are lucky to meet and work with really nice people. I have been blessed to be with working with a whole lot of really nice people, of which the Millers were no exception. They put on a small champagne brunch for their son who recently got married in Chicago this past July. A beautiful brunch was held at Wabeek Country Club where everyone got a chance to meet the lovely bride. Small gatherings with close family and friends is very in right now. Gives everyone a chance to actually spend time with one another. I like it. I like it a lot. Congratulations and the best of luck to you both.
